I think it is safe to say that there is no one in Hell today. Nobody is there because Hell is the final place for those who have rejected Christ and is the place to which they are assigned after the Great White Throne Judgment. After the day of final judgment, then Hell receives its population.
So it tells us in the last book of the Bible. The final story on each of us is not written until the last chapter is written. The Bible indicates that some will be rewarded for things that take place after they are gone from this world. D.L. Moody's reward [foremost U.S. evangelist of the last quarter of the 19th century] is not really reckoned yet, because as a result of his ministry and work, even today hundreds of missionaries are going out to the mission field and hundreds of people are being saved through the various ministries of Moody Bible Institute. The record is not yet complete. It is equally true that there will be judgments that will take place upon sinners for deeds that will happen long after they have left this world, because the effects of a sinful life can go on for generations after the person has died. He has sown a terrible harvest and has reaped some of it after he lies in the grave. And that will be a factor in that person's ultimate and final judgment. Related questions
