Redding
Dit woord wordt gebruikt voor de bevrijding van de Israëlieten van de overheersing door de Egyptenaren (Ex. 14:13), en in het algemeen van bevrijding van het kwade en van gevaar. In het Nieuwe Testament wordt het speciaal gebruikt met betrekking tot de grote bevrijding, die Jezus Christus tot stand bracht, van schuld en besmetting door de zonde, "de grote Redding" (Heb. 2:3).
