Who is…
Sered

Hebrew: סֶרֶד —transliteration: Cered —meaning: Sered

Meaning: possibly “fear” or “terror,” as the word’s root means to tremble

This Israelite man is the firstborn son of Zebulun (Genesis 46:14), and is one of descendants of Jacob who went to Egypt during the famine.

His descendants are called Seredites, and are a clan of the Zebulunites.

They were among the Israelites who wandered in the Exodus with Moses and Joshua. In the Book of Numbers, their men (20 years and older) were numbered by Moses and Eleazar for military service (Numbers 26:26).

There are no other mentions of Sered or his descendants in Scripture.
