This is the name of two biblical men and a town.

  1. King Rekem

    Rekem is one of the 5 kings (or princes) of Midian whom the Israelites killed him during war against Midianites (Numbers 31:8; Joshua 13:21), alongside Evi, Zur, Hur, Reba, and Balaam.

    This Midianite War is described in Numbers 31). God commanded Moses to punish the Midianites for seducing Israelites into idolatry and other immorality (Numbers 25, Baal Peor). 12,000 Israelite soldiers (1,000 per tribe) fought under Phinehas. There were no Israelite casualties. They Midianite male was killed, including the 5 kings.
