Bilhah

Hebrew: בִּלְהָה

Meaning: unworried; faltering; bashful

Bilhah was Rachel’s handmaid, whom she later gave to Jacob (Israel) (Genesis 29:29) inorder to bear him a son.

Bilhah was the mother of Dan and Naphtali (Genesis 30:3-8). Reuben was cursed by his father for committing adultery with her (35:22; 49:4).

Reuben was deprived of the birthright and his firstborn status, which was given to the sons of Joseph.
