Abijam

Hebrew: אֲבִיָּם —meaning: father of the sea; i.e., “seaman”
This is the name always used in The Book of Kings for the king of Judah, the son of Rehoboam, and the grandson of Solomon.
He is called Abijah in 1 Kings 15:1; 15:7-8; 1 Chronicles 3:10; 2 Chronicles 11:22; 12:16; 13:1-2.
He is the 4th king of the House of David and the 2nd of the Kingdom of Judah.
He is considered a bad king. He went to war against King Jeroboam of the Kingdom of Israel.
And Abijah and his people struck them down with a great slaughter, and 500,000 chosen men of Israel fell slain. —2 Chronicles 13:17
He had 14 wives, and became the father of 38 children (22 sons and 16 daughters) (2 Chronicles 13:21).
His mother’s name is Micaiah, the daughter of Uriel of Gibeah (2 Chronicles 13:2).
When Abijah died, his son Asa took his place (2 Chronicles 14:1).
