“His life just got put on paws.”

Here’s what the distributor says about their film: “Tom Brand (Kevin Spacey) is a billionaire whose workaholic lifestyle takes him away from his loving wife Lara and adorable daughter Rebecca. Needing a present for Rebecca’s 11th birthday, Brand buys a seemingly harmless cat from a mysterious pet store. Suddenly, a bizarre turn of events traps poor Tom inside the animal’s body. The owner of the business tells him that he has one week to reconnect with his family, or live out the rest of his days as a cute and furry feline named Mr. Fuzzypants.”

“Nine Lives” is not quite a catastrophe… I liked it more than Suicide Squad. …if you’re going to see Nine Lives for the would-be comic antics of a man trapped in the body of a house cat, you’re going to get your money’s worth and then some. …
Scott Mendelson, Forbes
…a cheesy movie with some questionable elements, but it has some redemptive qualities where good triumphs over evil, and the protagonist learns some positive lessons…

…Christopher Walken plays a ‘cat whisperer’ and Spacey stars in possibly the most spectacularly inept studio offering of the year. …
Nigel M. Smith, The Guardian (UK)
…It's funny only if you believe that the zaniest special-effects comedy of 1964 starring the voice of Shecky Green is funny. …
Owen Gleiberman, Variety
…Say scat to this Kevin Spacey cat movie… family film devoid of wit…
Neil Genzlinger, The New York Times
…Even Cat Fancy subscribers will hate it. …
John DeFore, The Hollywood Reporter
…a nonsensical plot about corporate double-crossing, treacly messages about the importance of family, and bland performances from Spacey, Garner, and even Walken. …
Devan Coggan, Entertainment Weekly
…It’s a Frankenstein’s monster of Hollywood’s worst instincts, a movie made with a math formula where its vision should have been. …
