Another enjoyably educational episode from “Veggie Tales”! “God Wants Me to Forgive Them?!?” presents a great lesson in forgiveness with two enjoyable stories.

The first story is about the “Grapes of Wrath”! No, not the big, thick novel—it is about a family of cranky grapes! This family thrives on name-calling and insulting! They meet up with Junior Asparagus and give him such an awful time! Thankfully, Junior’s dad explains that name-calling is bad and they ask for forgiveness from Junior. Junior knows that God forgives us and therefore we should forgive others. However, another twist in the story reveals how many times we should forgive people (Matthew 18:22).

The second story is a great one for “Gilligan’s Island” fans! It is titled “Larry’s Lagoon.” The First Mate Larry shipwrecks a tour boat with 3 passengers (the movie star and farm girl cancelled) and Captain Bob. Unfortunately, Captain Bob and the rest of the crew were so UPSET with Larry, they couldn’t forgive him when he said he was sorry. So, Larry ran off. Don’t worry, the story ends well. And besides learning what can be made with coconuts and bamboo, you also learn about forgiving others.

“Veggie Tales” are wonderful videos that have impressive computer animation and original soundtracks! Even an intermission is entertaining and insightful. Although they advertise for ages 3 to 8, grown kids of all ages will enjoy watching “Veggie Tales”! These are entertaining and Christian-oriented films that are sure to please.
