G - General Audiences-all ages admitted
Parents: a G-rating does not signify a "certificate of approval", nor does it signify a children's film. Some material may be unsuitable for younger children.
Material generally includes: no questionable themes or language (no "strong" words, but possible impolite conversation), no nudity and sex, possible minimal violence, etc.
PG - Parental Guidance Suggested; some material may not be suitable for children.
Parents: this film clearly needs to be examined or inquired about by parents before letting children attend. Some material may be unsuitable for children.
Objectionable material may include: questionable themes, mild profanity, violence, brief nudity (but not so intense as to deserve a harsher rating). No drug use.
PG-13 - Parents strongly cautioned. Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13.
Parents: this is a more serious warning from PG. Especially unsuitable in most cases for pre-teen children.
Objectionable material may include: questionable themes, violence, nudity (generally non-sexual), sensuality, language (in most cases, more than one harsh sexually-derived word in a sexual context gets an R-rating), drug use, or other contents considered more harsh than PG-rated films, but not meriting the R-rating.
R - Restricted. Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian.
Parents: Consider seriously this R-rating before allowing your teens to view it.
Possible Adult Material Includes: hard language, tough violence, nudity, sensuality, drug abuse, etc.
