"An Ugly, Deceiving Sin" —by Dan, age 43 This SIN (habitual masturbation) has destroyed four (4) marriages and left three children from two of those marriages without me as their father. It is an ugly deceiving SIN. For nearly 30 years I tried everything. As a Catholic Alterboy, I struggled with the guilt of it, through all of my early childhood years (from age 10-19). Constantly going to confession about it, but never really knowing what to call this SIN. Then when I prayed the “Sinner's Prayer” in 1980, and got married for the first time (I was a virgin) and other Christians began to tell me that I shouldn't feel guilty about anything, the guilt disappeared, but the SIN remained, worse than ever. I tried fasting, abstaining, and reading my Bible, yet every time it returned, stronger than before. The SIN lead to adultery (me “He-Man” macho needs to be sexually satisfied). Then one night about a year ago, I was in deep prayer before the LORD, in tears. I had lost my job, had no income… [As I prayed] totally before the LORD, JESUS DID IT! [He rescued me!]
