Raamah, the country
also known as: Rhegma (according to the ancient geograoger Claudius Ptolemy)
Raamah traded with the Phoenician city-state Tyre (Ezek. 27:22) now located in modern Lebanon. Raamah supplied all sorts of the best aromatic spices and precious jewels to the merchants of Tyre.
It was named for Raamah, the 4th son of Cush (above).
Location
This country of Raamah is usually assumed to be somewhere in the region of moden Yemen. Sheba, a son of Raamah, and his descendants are often held to be included among the Sabaeans, aka Sabeans. DedanDedan, father of the Dedanim is another son of Raamah. The descendants of both these men settled on the Persian Gulf.
