He was the “treasurer” of King Cyrus who brought out the articles taken away by Nebuchadnezzar from the Holy Temple of Jerusalem (Ezra 1:7-8). He inventoried them out to Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.
Cyrus ordered that these items be returned to Jerusalem with the Jewish exiles, including 5,400 gold and silver items.
