What are the…
Korahites

They are of the Tribe of Levi who are descendants of Korah, a cousin of Moses. They became an important branch of the Levite singers, the Kohathite division.

Then the Levites, from the sons of the Kohathites and of the sons of the Korahites, rose up to praise Yahweh, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice. —2 Chronicles 20:19 LSB

There are 11 psalms (Psalm 42-49; Psam 84; 85; 87; 88) dedicated to the sons of Korah.

The Korahite Psalms contain themes of longing for God, celebrate God’s universal rule, communal worship, and trust in His faithfulness and deliverance—emphasizing the contrite joy and privilege of worshiping in God’s sanctuary, laments, yet encouraging listeners to hope in our Lord—the ultimate source of refuge, redemption, and glory. Psalm 46 contains the famous line, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).

Some of the descendants of Korah also were Holy Tabernacle gatekeeprs (“porters”) (1 Chr. 9:17-19).

Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his relatives of his father’s house, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the tent; and their fathers had been over the camp of Yahweh, keepers of the entrance. —1 Chronicles 9:19 LSB

Another Korahite is named Mattithiah.

And Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the office of trust over the things which were baked in pans. —1 Chronicles 9:31
